Short Biography
- Degrees:
- Doctoral degree in 2010 from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and
- Diplom (~Master) degree in 2004 in Computer Science (major) and Mathematics (minor) from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern.
- Professional experience:
- Since 2004, Research Associate (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) with a strong focus on Network Security
- University of Tübingen (Sep. 2004 to Jun. 2008)
- TU Munich (Jul. 2008 till now)
- R&D projects:
- Contributed to and co-managed several research projects (EU, national and industrial).
- Topics differ from Intrusion Detection (Fixed and Mobile Networks), to Trusted Computing, Home Networking and Resilient Network Services.
- Industrial partners include Siemens AG, Nokia Siemens Networks, NEC, France Télécom and AT&T.
- Teaching activities:
- Ali gave a lecture on Network Security for 5 years, and thus had the pleasure to contribute to the education of more than 200 computer scientists.
- He supervised more than 20 master or bachelor students and had the pleasure to work with brilliant students.
- European NEC Network Laboratories (Nov. 2003 - Jun. 2004): Contributed to R&D and standardization as a master student
- IBM Toronto Lab/Canada (Jan. 2002 - Aug. 2002): 8 months internship. Software development at the in the DB2/UDB SQL compiler team.
- Since 2004, Research Associate (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) with a strong focus on Network Security

- 2011 Jul. 01: Registration is open for our Network Resilience course. The course is open for graduate students, PhD students and young researchers from universities and industrial laboratories around Europe.
