Cellular mobile networks provided the public with ubiquitous access to telephony. Today, Internet services go mobile and future networks will offer IP-based services directly integrated into the network. Wireless hotspot networks are to converge with the cellular one and thus, provide a simpler access for the user, but a more complex network access for the network.

Accounting and Charging in Beyond 3G networks Christian Hoene, Marc Fouquet, Ali Fessi, Andreas Klenk

We are working on an infrastructure for improved and flexible ways for accounting and charging in beyond 3G networks, in particular on the use of NSIS.

Security in Beyond 3G networks Marc Fouquet, Ali Fessi

We are investing 3G architectures / IMS / SAE Networks for weaknesses that could be used for DoS attacks. We also work on DDoS detection and -defense in Beyond 3G networks.

Charging System in Next-Generation Mobile Networks Ralph Kühne

Current developments such as increasing heterogeneity, network convergence and service diversity pose new challenges to charging systems as specified by the 3GPP, their configuration, maintenance and operation. To meet the accompanying new requirements we investigate innovate concepts and mechanisms for charging systems in next-generation mobile networks, such as charging system self-management.
