One reasearch project is the establishment of a heterogenous, hierarchical Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). Those networks have many application fileds like heath, military, home monitoring. They consist of small embedded devices (called motes) with limited space for the equipment. Corresponding to the applications the hardware is very specialized (e.g. different sensors, memory, energy supply). Those components are also limited factors of such a network. The main goals are to guarantee long life times and maximal data collection for a wireless sensor network. Thus, special software must be developed which fulfills different tasks corresponding to the network, hardware and application requirements. In our project we want to implement security features corresponing to the special application requirements. The heterogenous, hierarchical WSN we want to establish should be integreated in a Autonome Home Networking and involve well known security task (i.e. TPM certification, IPv6). It should also offer data access for authenticated users.
