Short Biography
- Ali Fessi joined the "Computer Networks and Internet" group at the University of Tübingen in September 2004 as scientific staff member and moved with Prof. Georg Carle to the Network Architectures and Service group at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in October 2008.
- He graduated in Computer Science (major) and Mathematics (minor) at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern in June 2004.
- His master thesis about "Peer-to-Peer Communication across Firewalls and Network Address Translators (NATs)" was performed at the NEC Network Laboratories, Heidelberg.
- Since he joined the team in Tübingen/TUM, Ali has contributed to several EU, national and industrial projects. He is also giving a lecture about Network Security together with Prof. Carle.
- In 2002, Ali worked for 8 months at the IBM Toronto Lab/Canada in the DB2/UDB SQL Compiler team.
- Ali's research interests are focused on (but not limited to) Security in Mobile and Distributed Systems, Resilient Network Services, Overlay and Peer-to-Peer Networking, Voice over IP Security.
- He is contributing to the Internet standardization in the IETF.
